Privacy Policy

Who we are
CultureHub is operated by GroupPPS. We provide an arts and culture platform for cities, regional arts organizations, and cultural institutions ("tenants"). This policy covers how we handle information for visitors browsing tenant sites and for administrators using the platform.
What we collect
Visitor analytics. When you visit a tenant site we record anonymous, aggregated data: page visits, referring URL, approximate location (city-level, derived from IP), device type, and which outbound links you click. We use this to give tenants the impact metrics they need to justify their arts budgets.
Account data. If you create a CultureHub account we store your email, name, optional display name, and password hash. Tenant administrators additionally have a role assignment that controls what they can edit on their site.
Email subscriptions. If you subscribe to a tenant's weekly digest we store your email and the tenant you subscribed to. Every digest includes a one-click unsubscribe link.
Geolocation. The "near me" features in the AI Explorer and on map pages request your browser's geolocation only when you tap the relevant control. The coordinate is used in memory to filter results and is never persisted to our servers.
What we don't do
We don't sell, rent, or share visitor data with third parties for marketing. We don't run ad networks or third-party trackers. We don't build advertising profiles. The data we collect serves the tenant whose site you're on, full stop.
Cookies and storage
We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies: a session cookie for logged-in administrators, a preference cookie for the gate password (where enabled), and a last-active timestamp used to enforce idle session timeouts. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
Where the platform uses Google Analytics 4 (when a tenant has opted in), data is configured with IP anonymization and is used only for aggregate visitor analytics in the tenant's admin dashboard.
Data we share with third parties
The platform uses several service providers to operate. These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy terms: Amazon Web Services (hosting, storage), Vercel (frontend hosting), Google Maps and Google Places (map and venue data), Anthropic (AI features for itinerary generation and audio tour narration), OpenAI (text-to-speech), and Resend (transactional email). We do not pass identifying information to these providers beyond what's necessary to deliver the requested feature.
Your rights and choices
You have the following rights regarding the personal information we hold about you:
- Access. Download a complete copy of everything we have on your account from the Profile → Privacy tab. The export is a JSON file containing your profile, all submissions across every module, saved items, notifications, tenant memberships, and email subscriptions.
- Correction. Update your profile information at any time from Profile → Account.
- Deletion. Permanently delete your account from the Privacy tab. Saved items, notifications, login tokens, and email subscriptions are erased. Content you submitted to tenant sites (events, public art listings, etc) is retained because tenants and their visitors rely on it being public, but your attribution is anonymized to "Former member."
- Marketing opt-out. Every tenant digest email has a one-click unsubscribe link. We don't send marketing emails from CultureHub itself.
- Other questions. For any other request — to ask what data we have, file a complaint, or exercise a right under California (CCPA/CPRA), Kentucky (KCDPA), or another state law — email the privacy contact below.
