WFPK Waterfront Wednesday 91.9 WFPK Independent Louisville and Waterfront Park are delighted to announce the 24th season of WFPK Waterfront Wednesday. Proceeds from WFPK Waterfront Wednesday benefit two beloved local nonprofits, Louisville Public Media and Waterfront Park. 2026 Season Dates and Artists April 22 Deep Blue Something, Small Time Napoleon May 27 Arlo Parks, MODISTE June 24 The War & Treaty, Second Story Man July 29 Over the Rhine (with full band)Abby Hamilton, Young Artist Showcase winner (6:00 p.m.) August 26 Old 97’s, Cait Justice, Young Artist Showcase winner (6:00 p.m.) September 23 Houseplant,, DOOM GONG, Young Artist Showcase winner (6:00 p.m.) This season, WFPK Waterfront Wednesday is giving fans more of what they come for — headliners will take the stage earlier and perform a full 90-minute set, following a spotlight on Louisville’s favorite local and regional artists. Additionally, in April, May and June, The Monarch Living Room Stage will feature a slew of local artists from 5:00 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. and throughout the evening as an additional fan experience between set breaks. The free concerts take place on the Big Four Lawn in Louisville’s Waterfront Park. The lawn opens at 5:00 p.m., with music on the main stage beginning promptly at 6:30 p.m. Food trucks and vendor booths will be available throughout the season beginning at 5:00 p.m. These events are made free thanks to the support of generous sponsors, on-site concession sales and donations. LVA Art Camp at Waterfront Park Location: Waterfront Park Office, David K Karem Building 129 River Rd, Louisville, KY 40202 next to Joe’s Crab Shack (131 River Rd) ATTENTION parents and caregivers: Louisville Visual Arts and Waterfront Park invite campers aged 7 to 12 to experience art in nature this summer. This day camp will offer art instruction, fresh air, greenspace, a splash park, playgrounds, and more ART! LVA Artist Instructors will guide campers through Waterfront Park’s art, wildlife and history, while campers will create paintings, drawings, sculptures and more, inspired by their own observations and nature. A ride on the riverboat “Mary Miller” (who was the first female steamboat captain) is included in the camp, also a visit to Abraham Lincoln by Ed Hamilton, and to the Flock of Finns by Marvin Finn, (both local artists), and a day at the new Waterfront Park PlayPort. The dates for the day camp are June 22-26, and the cost is $275 for the week. The hours are 9:30am-4pm. Waterfront Park and LVA Members receive a 10% discount. Downtown Drive-in at Waterfront Park **This event is produced by the Louisville Downtown Partnership** Location: Brown-Forman Amphitheater (1301 River Road) When: Various Friday nights throughout the summer and fall Time: Venue opens at 8 pm and movie begins at sunset In collaboration with Waterfront Park, Louisville Downtown Partnership is excited to for the return of the outdoor movie night series, Downtown Drive-Ins, will transform Waterfront Park’s Brown-Forman Amphitheater into an outdoor theater experience, offering locals and visitors alike the chance to enjoy free movie screenings in the heart of the city. The series will take place on select Friday nights through October, with the amphitheater open to the public one hour before sundown when the movies will start. Movie-goers are also welcome to bring blankets and lawn chairs to the viewing. No tickets are required for the outdoor film screenings, but guests are encouraged to arrive early to save their seats. Rick Bell Historic Walking Tours Location: Meet at the Belle of Louisville and walk to the Lincoln Memorial Please join author and historian, Rick Bell as he returns to Waterfront Park for monthly walking tours. Bell will be hosting a FREE 1.5-mile historical walking tour on select dates. Tours will begin at the Belle of Louisville and will take you all through Waterfront Park until you reach the Lincoln Memorial. Bell will give attendees the opportunity to educate themselves from what used to be a barren scrap yard, to what is now Waterfront Park, 88.5-acres of open green space giving people access to the Ohio River in downtown Louisville. Whether it is describing the riverfront’s importance to the growth of Louisville, or even a chilling story of sleigh rides on the Ohio, Bell’s historical walks will leave you feeling like a Waterfront Park expert! RAIN OR SHINE Participants should wear comfortable walking shoes and bring drinking water and sunscreen.
